Helium Balloon Launch #5 Smartphone Satellite Love Letter to the Universe TEST #1 (SSLLUT #1) Artist Run Scientific Enterprises (ARSE) launched the first prototype communication and exploration satellite device SSLLUT #1. SSLUT #1 is part of an ongoing project called Signalling the Stars where I began a dialogue between myself and the universe. In my ongoing mission to communicate my love, ARSE has designed several helium balloon launches to communicate my love using various tools including orgone energy coils, love letters and coded messages.
SSLLUT #1 is ARSE'S first attempt at a satellite inspired transmission in which I placed a live video call to the universe to an android device attached to 24 helium-filled balloons; i.e. I face-timed the universe. The helium balloon satellite was released from Contemporary Art Tasmania's car park for the closing and the imagery captured in the video call live-streamed inside the gallery.
