Photons brings together artists that work with projection and video, modelled on the exhibition style of the Paris Salon, where paintings were jammed in as close as possible to fill the walls with images. The exhibition takes the same style and applies it in a way that is half LAN party and half hackspace. In recent times artists that work with projection have lost many of the opportunities to show their work. Festivals have shut down, concerts delayed and projects halted. This is a chance to highlight the diversity within the medium and to put light particles back on the wall.
Photons acknowledges and respects the Palawa/Pakana people as the traditional and ongoing owners and custodians of the skies, land and water of Lutruwita. We pay our respects to their elders both past and present.
